The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deputy-involved shooting that left a driver dead following a chase Sunday morning.
According to the MCSO, deputies were attempting a traffic stop at around 3:30 a.m. on IH-45 and Pruitt Road.At some point during the chase, the driver reportedly approached an already existing crash scene which caused them to stop the vehicle.
As the deputy got out of their vehicle, the suspect allegedly put their car into reverse and slammed into the patrol car, knocking the deputy to the ground.Officials say that lifesaving measures were given to the suspect who was then transported to the hospital in critical condition.This is not the first deputy-involved shooting in the Montgomery County area.
