After crashing into a wall whilst three times over the limit, Mark Ward continued on for nearly three miles with three wheels until police stopped him
A drunk-driver kept going for three miles despite losing one of his wheels when he crashed into a wall.
Mark Ward, 33, was nearly three times over the drink-driving limit when he collided with the wall in Penmaenmawr, north Wales.Ward failed a roadside breath test with a reading of 103mg – way above the legal limit of 35mg.Ward admitted dangerous driving and drink-diving at Llandudno magistrates Court and was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months. He was also disqualified from driving for 30 months.
PC Daniel Edwards said: ‘Ward’s driving was reckless and completely irresponsible, and it is only by pure luck that nobody was seriously injured or even killed.PC Edwards said he had seen all too often, the ‘devastation’ caused by drink driving and vowed to continue to try to make the roads safer by clamping down on offences such as Ward’s.
