A driver who rammed into an Apple store, killing one person and injuring 19 others, has been arrested and identified.

Rein has been charged with reckless motor vehicle homicide and reckless motor vehicle operation. Wearing jeans and a long-sleeved shirt, Rein pleaded not guilty during his arraignment on Tuesday. A judge set a $100,000 cash bail for him and barred him from driving or leaving the state without the court’s permission.

His defense attorney told the court it was ‘an unfortunate accident’. Rein told investigators he was searching for an eyeglass store when his right foot got stuck on the accelerator of his SUV and he tried braking with his left foot but could not stop, prosecutors said.Rein said he had not consumed alcohol or drugs and that he did not have medical issues that would impair his driving ability. His preliminary breathalyzer test had a 0.00% reading.
