' The Chancellor has put taxpayers on notice for potential increases after inheriting a 'dire state' of public finances from the Tories, with Ms Reeves alerting the nation that 'difficult decisions' will need to be made in the upcoming Budget on October 30. Earlier in the month, Ms Reeves levelled accusations at the Conservative government for allegedly concealing a £22 billion deficit in the national budget.
