Five gang members - Lloyd Cross, David Bilsland, Paul Bowes, Ryan McPhee and Gerard Carbin - were sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow in October.
A drugs mob behind a plot to flood Scotland with £76m of cocaine in banana crates from South America have been hit with legal orders to thwart their involvement in the underworld.
The SCPOs were granted following a hearing at the High Court in Edinburgh and will be in place for four years after their release from jail. “As well as prosecuting criminals, COPFS is using all the tools available to us to protect Scottish communities from the harm done by serious organised crime gangs. SCPOs are one of the ways we can do that, ensuring restrictions are placed on offenders’ activities and that they are subject to monitoring upon their release from prison.
The investigation led to police intercepting the shipment of bananas which arrived at Dover Port on a vessel from Ecuador and were addressed to a company named Glasgow Fruit Market. A total of 119 packages of the Class A drug were seized by authorities, containing a total of 952 blocks of cocaine each weighing one kilo - just less than a tonne.
