Care home worker Aimee Bennett was captured on CCTV as she repeatedly jabbed at Jurijus Ivanovas before stealing alcohol from his off licence.
A mum who slashed a shopkeeper across the neck with a broken wine bottle during a violent raid on his store has been jailed for five years.
Mr Ivanovas suffered deep cuts to his ear and neck during the attack and claims he has lost almost all his hearing as a result. At Minshull Street Crown Court, Bennett from Oldham sobbed in the dock as she pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and theft.The court heard how the incident occurred on August 21 last year after Bennett, who has never been in trouble with the police before, entered the Red Rose off-licence in Oldham along with the unnamed man.In CCTV footage shown in the court room, her accomplice can be seen arguing with Mr Ivanovas, and then the two enter into a brawl.
‘She is clearly ashamed by what she did and she realised that she did something wrong during the police interview. There’s no getting away from what she did’ Prosecuting Miss Ellen Shaw, said: ‘The CCTV visually explains what happened. Paramedics attended and the victim was taken to hospital. He sustained lacerations to his ear and neck and bruising to his head and chest.
