Pauline Summer has a previous conviction for attacking the same woman in 2016
A woman feared she was going to die in a vicious attack with chair legs and an alarm clock at the hands of her ex.
She ran to a neighbours, who gave her a jacket, then went to a friend's house. She was too shocked and shaken to call the police and remained in that state, self medicating, for two days, Preston Crown Court heard. Doctors called the police who went to the flat and found Sumner there. She claimed she was house sitting for her ex and had been asked to look after the keys. She said her victim was an alcoholic who had returned home injured but did not say how she had been hurt.
The woman said she has had to learn to do daily tasks again and can not even open the friidge door due to her injury. She can not lift her arm above chest level. She has felt unable to be alone in her flat and has only been able to sleep in her bedroom when someone stays over.Sumner, of Thompson Road, Ormskirk, was remanded in custody and has used her time to take courses in maths, English and alcohol and drug awareness.
