Medina Lake is only 2% full, and homeowners say their private, domestic wells are drying up and collapsing due to the historically low water levels.
Drought conditions in and around, San Antonio are causing homeowners a fortune to keep running water in their homes.
Mauk said there are close to 8,000 domestic wells registered in the area and about 60% of them are not producing the water needed. One homeowner tells us the private well on his property was initially drilled more than 70 years ago and he’s never had an issue with it until Medina Lake dried up.
