Dua Lipa reached for a plunging, crystal-embellished Chanel dress for the Time 100 Gala in New York.
British pop star Dua Lipa and French fashion house Chanel are building a beautiful romance. At the 2023 Met Gala, while performing her duties as a co-chair of the ceremony, Dua Lipa wore a Chanel tweed ball gown, the same dress worn by Claudia Schiffer at the fall/winter 1992 haute couture show. Almost a year after this remarkable appearance, the Brit once again called on Chanel to create an exceptional look for her at the Time 100 Gala in New York on April 25, where the 28-year-old performed.
WWD points out that it took 1,000 hours of work and 45,000 embroidered details to create this Chanel piece. In this evening gown, Dua Lipa brings a new dimension to the coquette aesthetic, the ultimate trend of 2024, seen on numerous catwalks. Crafted from lace embroidered with crystals and aluminum rings, this Chanel gown featured a plunging neckline, enhanced by a black satin bow and a white resin brooch.
