Martin Dubravka's impressive run with Newcastle United may be coming to an end as he's agreed to join Al Shabab.
It looks like one of Newcastle United 's longest-serving players has featured in his last game for the club. Since first-choice goalkeeper Nick Pope picked up a knee injury last month, Dubravka has featured heavily for the in-form Magpies as they've continued their superb form in all competitions. The 35-year-old has done a superb job in between the sticks, keeping four consecutive clean sheets.
But it looks like his time at St James' Park could be over after he verbally agreed a move to Al Shabab. Newcastle could try and change Dubravka's mind given how highly Eddie Howe rates him, although Al Shabab are said to be 'confident' that a transfer will be formalised soon following weeks of speculation. At the time, Trafford was seen as a player who could rival Pope rather than come in as a replacement. Chelsea were also said to be keen on making a move for the talented shot-stopper, who only joined Burnley fromManchester United in 2023. Thoughts on Dubravka's potential departure? Do you think James Trafford would be a good replacement? Let us know in the comments
