Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, has risen to become one of the most respected members of the Royal Family. Renowned for her steadfast support of Prince Edward, her charitable work, and her approachable nature, she has earned the admiration of both the public and the Royal Family. Her role as a 'rock' for the Queen and her ascension to Duchess further solidify her vital position in the monarchy.

Having been a part of the Royal family for over 25 years, the Duchess of Edinburgh's steady ascent in the monarchy has led her to be one of the most esteemed and admired figures today. Her unwavering support for her husband Prince Edward , dedication to charitable causes, and her warm and approachable demeanour, reports OK!, have won her the hearts of both the royals and the public.

As she prepares to celebrate her milestone 60th birthday in January, broadcaster and author Katie Nicholl shares, 'Now, more than ever, we're seeing what a vital cog Sophie is in the royal machine. In March 2023, King Charles revealed that Edward would take over Philip's title as the Duke of Edinburgh, which meant Sophie's previous title of Countess of Wessex was elevated to the more prestigious Duchess. This strong support from Charles further highlighted Sophie's increasing standing within the Royal family. Katie commented, 'She's proved to be a real asset for the King during his illness, taking on ever more responsibility. He definitely values Sophie's loyalty and all her hard work very highly.' Coming from a non-aristocratic, middle-class background, Sophie Rhys-Jones used to work in public relations
