Have YOU got a story? EmailWarner Bros. announced in April that they were officially in development with director Denis Villeneuve for a third Dune movie, though it seems that will be his last in the franchise.
'Listen, if Dune: Messiah happens, it will have been many years for me on Arrakis, and I would love to do something else,' he insisted. 'I think that it would be a good idea for me to make sure that, in Messiah, there are the seeds in the project if someone wants to do something else afterwards, because they are beautiful books,' he added.
When Villeneuve was brought on, he insisted on splitting the novel into two halves, the first playing out in the 2021 film and the second in the 2024 Part Two. While it's unclear when that sequel will go into production, the filmmaker insisted in a new interview with Vanity Fair that he will not be coming back
