Ahead of an Anchorage energy conference, Gov. Mike Dunleavy said his staff is still working to understand the impact of recently passed energy legislation in light of natural gas supply concerns in Southcentral Alaska.

Opponents of the bill were concerned there was no guarantee a lower royalty rate would lead to more production. The governor was joined by Alberta Premier Danielle Smith at the energy conference, who talked about the province leader’s goal of being carbon neutral by 2050.
