Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has the belief Opposition Leader Peter Dutton is “likely” to oppose the referendum on the Indigenous Voice to Parliament, says Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell.
“As revealed on Afternoon Agenda, the Opposition Leader Peter Dutton accepted the invitation of the PM to attend the Working Group on the referendum on Thursday,” Mr Clennell said.
“The Opposition then called for the government to set up a Constitutional Convention similar to before the 1999 republican vote, saying there was not enough consultation on the Voice.” “The Prime Minister now has the belief Peter Dutton is likely to oppose the referendum for an Indigenous Voice to parliament and is intent on setting up roadblocks against it at every turn.”
