The DVLA has announced new vehicle tax changes for all drivers from April 1, 2025 - and it may cause some motorists to pay more than they currently do
UK drivers are set to face changes in their vehicle tax next year, following a government announcement. New petrol, diesel and hybrid vehicles will be subject to higher first-year tax rates after the Budget.
VED is a tax on every vehicle using public roads in the UK, collected by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency . The fees will increase in line with the Retail Price Index inflation from April 1, 2025. If the vehicle was registered before 1 April 2017, this rate will depend on the vehicle's CO2 emissions. If registered on or after 1 April 2017, you will pay the standard rate of £195.
