New rules for hauliers travelling in Europe have been announced by the Department for Transport, the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) and Traffic Commissioners for Great Britain.
UK tourists travelling to popular European Union destinations could be significantly impacted by recent changes in driving laws.
The Department for Transport, the DVSA and Traffic Commissioners for Great Britain have unveiled new regulations for international road haulage permits, or through Norway, as an alternative to the UK Licence for the Community. Road users must possess a vehicle operator licence to transport their own goods, both domestically and internationally.
These nations include Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Morocco, Russia, Tunisia, Turkey and Ukraine. However, bilateral permits for Belarus or Russia are currently unavailable due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, reports Birmingham Live. In some of the nine countries, a permit is necessary if your vehicle is solely used for transporting goods related to your own business, and not for hire or reward .
