The Warm Home Discount will provide some much-needed relief during the cost of living crisis this winter
The government's Warm Home Discount energy scheme has been launched for 2023 and could see millions of people get £150 off their electricity bill.
Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero Claire Coutinho said: "Energy prices are down 55 per cent since their peak, but we know many families are still facing pressures. That is why we are continuing to provide financial support, including targeted help, such as the £150 Warm Home Discount, for those most in need."
You can receive the Warm Home Discount if you either receive the Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit or are on a low income and have energy costs . The discount is not available for billpayers in Northern Ireland. This letter will detail your eligibility as well as any additional information you need to provide. The Department for Work and Pensions is reportedly working with participating suppliers to help identify those in core group 1 so they can automatically receive the discount.
