DWP can provide up to £627 each month for people with any of these 70 neurological conditions
Last year, the Scottish Government announced that 19 projects supporting people with neurological conditions were to benefit from a third round of funding. As part of a five-year neurological care and support action plan, innovative projects which harness new techniques and technology will be helped with £1 million commissioned for work across Scotland.
The latest statistics from the Department for Work and Pensions show that by the end of October 2022, there were more than three million people across the UK claiming Personal Independence Payment . The regional breakdown includes nearly 330,000 claimants living in Scotland, 2.6million in England and 226,000 in Wales.
The new data also revealed that there are now 403,469 people receiving support through PIP for 70 neurological conditions.Even though PIP is being replaced in Scotland by the Adult Disability Payment, it follows the same eligibility criteria, but takes a more 'people-centred' approach, according to Social Security Scotland.
People who have reached State Pension age People of State Pension age or over are also receiving support for a neurological condition through Attendance Allowance. Neurological conditions supported through PIP, ADP and Attendance Allowance This is the list of 70 neurological conditions being supported through PIP, ADP or Attendance Allowance.
