In the first fortnight of Labour's new reign, the Department for Work and Pensions has unveiled significant reforms aimed at reintegrating some of the 9.4 million 'inactive' workers into the workforce. These changes align with Sir Keir Starmer's strategy to stimulate growth and enhance funding for public services.
The age charity advocating for the government to concentrate on older workers commented: "If the government gets these reforms right, it could go a long way to helping to meet their mission to kickstart economic growth." Kendall also announced enhanced support for disabled individuals both in securing and maintaining employment by granting more power to local areas.
"We welcome Liz Kendall's commitment to reforming employment support to ensure it gives people more opportunities and her interest in how Jobcentre works with the over 50s group."
