Those claiming Pension Credit will see an increase to their payments in just a few days
Pension Credit is set to see a significant boost in April, with some seeing an increase of £300 a year.
Pension Credit is issued as a top-up for those over the state pension age and living on a low income. Currently, the benefit provides £3,900 a year, however, this is due to go up in April. Those over the state pension age and on low income will see a direct change to their benefits if they claim Pension Credit. The benefit is one among many that will receive an increase from April 8 of 6.7 per cent - in line with September's Consumer Price Index .This means for single component claimants, Pension Credit will rise from £201.05 a week to £218.15 a week while the couple component will rise by £206.85 a week to £332.95 a week.
