The government is issuing a free handout to help with rising living costs
Millions of households across the UK are in line to get a £300 direct payment from the government from this week.
The DWP has confirmed that those who are eligible will receive the £300 handout between October 31 and November 19. It will appear in bank accounts with your National Insurance Number followed by the code DWP COL or HMRC COLS. From HMRC, you need to have received a payment of tax credits for any day in the period between August 18, 2023 and September 17, 2023.
