Millions across the UK could be eligible for extra financial support if they're living with a musculoskeletal condition

A DWP list shows the 87 muscle and joint conditions that could see you qualify for financial support. The Department for Work and Pensions has released new figures indicating that over 1.1 million adults across Great Britain receive payments from Personal Independence Payment .

The latest DWP data also reveals that there are now 3.5 million people in Scotland, England, and Wales claiming PIP, including nearly 218,859 residing in Scotland, reports the Daily Record. Successful claims for PIP can provide additional financial support ranging from £28.70 to £184.30 each week. Given that the benefit is paid every four weeks, this equates to between £114.80 and £737.20 per pay period.

If your condition does not appear, do not be discouraged from making a claim. Awards for PIP are based on how the condition affects you, not the condition itself. Typically, you need to have resided in the UK for at least two of the past three years and be in the country when you apply. In addition to the above, if your condition requires or results in assistance with any of the following, you should consider applying for PIP.
