Households could get the £750 payment if they're already getting this government benefit – here's everything you need to know
Households claiming a government benefit may be entitled to an extra top-up payment worth £750 – thanks to the Department for Work and Pensions . And the extra cash boost could be given out to almost 700,000 eligible people.
What is the Motability scheme and who can get it? The Motability scheme helps enable disabled people, their families and their carers to lease a new car, scooter or powered wheelchair, using their disability benefit. The scheme is also available for those who get Disability Living Allowance , an older benefit that also helps with living costs. Who is eligible for the scheme? Anyone who has been awarded the higher rate of PIP or DLA and who has at least 12 months left on their allowance can apply for the Motability scheme.
This payment can either be sent directly to your dealer to contribute towards your Advance Payment – before you buy your car, mobility scooter or electric wheelchair – or paid in full to you after you receive your vehicle.
