The new head of the Department for Work and Pensions, Liz Kendall, has declared a crackdown on unemployment. Universal Credit and PIP claimants could face significant changes as Ms Kendall, a key figure in the new Labour Party government, made her stance clear.
She accused the previous Government of prioritising "political point-scoring over problem-solving". The DWP chief stated: "Their divisive rhetoric about strivers versus scroungers or claiming people felt too 'bluesy' to work may have grabbed headlines, but it did absolutely nothing to actually get Britain working again.
