DWP will pay people on Universal Credit more money
The increase comes as other benefits will also jump up from next week. State Pensions will rise by 8.5% on April 8, as per the Triple Lock policy, while most working age and disability benefits will increase by the September Consumer Price Index inflation rate figure of 6.7%.
The new rates were confirmed by the Chancellor in the Autumn Budget. In 2024/25, around 5.5 million Universal Credit families are forecast to benefit from the uprating with an average annual gain estimated to be £470 .
