An e-scooter has caught fire in a south-east Queensland house, setting the home on fire and forcing the family to go to hospital for treatment.Emergency services were called to Nelson Street in Bundamba about 6.15am on Tuesday.
One man in his 40s was rushed to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition with significant smoke inhalation. A woman in her 30s and two young children were taken to Ipswich Hospital for smoke inhalation, all in stable conditions. A Queensland and Fire Emergency Services spokeswoman said five crews were called to the scene with the first truck arriving five minutes after the initial call.
“Upon arrival, crews confirmed there was a house on fire. Two men in breathing apparatuses went into action and extinguished the e-scooter by 6.30am,” she said.It has not been confirmed whether the e-scooter was being charged at the time it caught fire.in Brisbane’s south-west last week.
