EA Games becomes EA Entertainment and EA Sports in a new organizational restructure...
EA has announced its restructuring its internal studios into two organizations, EA Entertainment and EA Sports, to"empower" its creative teams.
Following a restructuring at EA Games, the company's studios have been separated into two organizations with the goal of empowering"studio leaders with more creative ownership and financial accountability." The split will see EA Games, now named EA Entertainment, operate independently from EA Sports, with both organizations continuing to report to CEO Andrew Wilson.
The restructuring sees EA's chief operating officer Laura Miele lead the teams as president of EA Entertainment, Technology and Central Development. She'll oversee a number of"key studios," while Respawn Entertainment boss Vince Zampella leads the studios responsible for Apex Legends, Battlefield, and Star Wars.
On the EA Sports side, EA's EVP Cam Weber has been appointed president of the organization, with former chief marketing officer David Tinson now taking on the role of EVP and chief experiences officer. Tinson will be succeeding Chris Bruzzo following his retirement and will oversee the experiences team to"develop and scale services and capabilities across Commercial, Marketing, WWCE, EAX, and Positive Play in order to inspire, engage, and connect fans, in and around our games.
As for Electronic Arts, Chris Suh is now leaving the company and will be succeeded by Stuart Canfield as the company's new EVP and chief financial officer.
