One person jumped from a window to escape the burning building.
Six people were transported to area hospitals with injuries after a fire destroyed a townhouse early Monday morning in Cumberland County, according to a Hampden Township fire official.
One resident jumped from a second story window onto a mattress on the ground, said Flinn. The rest escaped through the garage bay. Around 60 firefighters and about 20 engines responded to the scene. The home was an end unit, and there was a firewall separating it from its neighbor. Flinn said there was minimal smoke damage to the house next door and possibly some fire damage in the attic. Parts of the siding were off the top story of the adjacent unit.
