Langlands Ladies Golf Section donated £320 at the recent Open Day in aid of The Haven, which helps people across Lanarkshire with life-limiting illnesses.
An East Kilbride golf club held an open event in a bid to raise cash for a Lanarkshire charity which helps locals with life-limiting illnesses. After a fun-filled day of introducing and meeting new people, Langlands Ladies vice-captain Lyn Doran handed over a bumper cheque to the Haven’s campaigns manager Paul Hayward.
“It’s a magnificent opportunity to not only to play golf and enjoy the company of ladies who love to play golf from local and a far, it also enables us to provide support to vital and local charities such as The Haven – so what better way to enable us to do this than organising a bigger golfing day, which we do every week anyway, and invite all the surrounding golfing clubs to participate in doing what we love, and give something back in return.
Lyn added: “I was first introduced to The Haven through my place of work, and was really warmed to the fantastic and valuable support The Haven can provide to people of all different ages and different circumstances and walks of life. “On behalf of all the ladies, I would like to sincerely thank Paul for coming to meet us all, enjoying our day with us, and highlighting the vital support that is carried out at The Haven. We look forward to providing support in the future.”
