East Kilbride Hiking Club members and guests recently enjoyed two fantastic hikes, braving a mini-blizzard and tackling challenging trails.
East Kilbride Hiking Club members and their guests have been enjoying the beauty of the outdoors recently with two memorable hikes. The first outing in January, just as Storm Eowyn passed, saw participants experience a mini-blizzard at Queens View and the Whangie on an otherwise exceptional, albeit windy, day. The club's latest adventure took a packed coach to the charming Trossachs village of Callander, where two distinct 16km hikes commenced.
Twenty-six low walkers embarked on a route traversing the Menteith Hills and Loch Venacher, while 19 high walkers scaled Ben Gullipen. Both groups converged on the Rob Roy Way for a final walk into Aberfoyle.A social hour back in Callander was enjoyed by everyone before the journey home. Considering venturing out with the club? Their fortnightly outings offer opportunities to explore the Scottish landscape. Visit their website at www.ekhikingclub.co.uk to discover their upcoming destinations.
