Liv Russell joined her local Slimming World group in East Kilbride in May 2023 and 47 weeks later reached her dream weight having shed nine stone and going from a size 24 down to a size 8.
A woman who transformed her life by dropping an incredible nine stone and dropped eight dress sizes is using her success to kick-start a whole new career helping others achieve their goals.
She said: "I looked at the photograph and was shocked. I never realised before just how overweight I was. I just knew that I needed to change something for myself but also for my girls, I didn’t want to miss out on another minute of fun with them and I wanted to feel happy and confident in my body and set that example for them growing up.
Liv admits she had no self confidence and hid away from photos so when she looks back at the first year of her twins' lives, she has very few pictures with them which she says "made her sad". "Setting targets, sharing recipes and other ideas, and working together as a group to overcome challenges and celebrate success is so important to a successful journey. That’s why, at my Slimming World group, there’ll be tons of support, encouragement and fun as well as recipe ideas to help people still have those family favourites and never miss out.”
"Dinner will be something like spaghetti bolognese, chilli and rice or a delicious chicken curry and in the evening I will enjoy fresh fruit or some chocolate or popcorn. Its great that my husband and children eat the same as me." Liv is now training as a consultant for Slimming World and member are getting ready to welcome her when she takes over the group on Wednesday, August 28.
