Preeya Kalidas, who played Amira Masood in the soap rushed to A&E for treatment
An ex-Eastenders actress revealed she had to rush to hospital after suffering a painful and nasty injury in the gym. Preeya Kalidas, who played Amira Masood in the soap opera EastEnders, from 2009 to 2012 said that the incident was ‘painful and bloody’ in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
The incident happened on Thursday and she said: “So up and about starting the day in the gym. Then trapped finger in door. Now In A&E .. moral of the story. Anything can happen at any point so LIVE !” The 43 year old later posted a video of her getting bandaged up by A&E staff and said: “Also Thank you @NHSuk staff for being amazing. Through the pain, blood and throbbing the nurse made me laugh “ I need to put this on like a condom”.
As she walked away from the hospital, the soapstar revealed she was on her way to see a specialist. “This is not how I was planning to spend my day,” she told the camera. “It just shows you anything can happen at any moment”. After an X-Ray, specialists determined that her bone was not broken and that she didn’t need stitches. She is also a singer/songwriter and has appeared in Bend it Like Beckham, Bombay Dreams and Mistresses.
