EastEnders' Duncan Boyd returning to BBC soap after three decades away EastEnders
Actor David Gillespie is set to make his return to EastEnders as Duncan Boyd, 34 years on from his original stint on the soap.
He first appeared on EastEnders back in 1987 as the curate of the local Church, where he met a young Sharon, who was attempting to find peace away from the constant shouting of her parents, Dennis and Angela Watts. Duncan makes his return to the The Square to officiate the christening of Sharon's son, Albie, and he's shocked when he realises that Albie is the child of his former fiancée, as their past relationship comes to light.
Chris Clenshaw, Executive Producer, added: “It’s wonderful to welcome David back to the role of Duncan Boyd. Although we haven’t seen Duncan for over three decades, his character shares a romantic history with one of the show’s iconic matriarchs, Sharon. We’re delighted to have him back for a short while as he unknowingly stirs up drama between the happy couple.
