EASTENDERS' Emma Barton said she had "too much dance experience" and it’d be "unfair" to do Strictly Come Dancing - ten years before signing up for the show.
The 42-year-old - who plays Honey Mitchell in the BBC soap - was one of the first names announced for this years series.Credit: PA:Press Association/PA Imagessaid her experience on stage might give her an unfair advantage if she was ever to do the BBC One dancing show. She told the Birmingham Mail at the time: "I might consider doing it, though after all this time dancing in Chicago, maybe it wouldn’t be fair.Emma, who played the lead role of Roxie Hart in the production, also revealed that at that point she had already been approached at least once by Strictly producers “but nothing came of it”.
She added: “I’ve been given this wonderful opportunity to learn all the different styles of dancing from the very best in the business. “So I’m whipping off Honey’s ‘Minute Mart’ tabard and diving right in to all the glitter and sparkle. From Albert Square to the Strictly dance floor - I just can’t wait.”
