BBC iPlayer has significantly expanded its collection of classic EastEnders episodes, offering fans the chance to revisit iconic moments from the soap's history as it celebrates its 40th anniversary. The new collection features over 50 episodes from 1985 to 2008, including memorable storylines, weddings, and dramatic twists.

EastEnders fans can now relive some of the soap's most iconic moments with a vast expansion of classic episodes on BBC iPlayer. To celebrate the show's 40th anniversary, more than 50 episodes from 1985 to 2008 are now available to stream, offering a treasure trove of Walford history for fans to revisit. Previously, iPlayer only showcased a handful of early episodes, such as the Christmas 1985 edition featuring Den Watts serving Angie with divorce papers.

Now, viewers can delve into a wealth of memorable storylines, including Bianca Jackson's 1997 wedding to Ricky Butcher, the 'Who shot Phil?' mystery from 2001, and the heartwarming engagement and wedding of Dot Cotton and Jim Branning. Fans can also re-experience Cindy Beale's 90s affair with David Wicks, Sonia Fowler's surprise labour in 2000, and many other defining moments. To access this collection, simply search for 'Classic EastEnders' on BBC iPlayer. This new addition complements the existing complete archive of episodes from 2008 to the present day, as well as the previously available collection of every Christmas episode from 1985 to 2023. The expansion of classic episodes is just one of the ways EastEnders is marking its milestone anniversary. The soap will air an explosive week of episodes, including a groundbreaking live instalment, and will see cast members take over other popular BBC shows. On February 15th, Adam Woodyatt, Michelle Collins, Micah Balfour, and Molly Rainford will participate in an EastEnders-themed edition of Bridge of Lies, hosted by Ross Kemp. Meanwhile, former cast members Danielle Harold and Max Bowden will reunite for a special episode of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, airing on February 14th.
