soon proved that he was more like mum Little Mo than anyone could ever have imagined, as he saved Stacey Slater from terrifying stalker Theo Hawthorne by using a very familiar weapon.Poor Mo suffered horribly at the hands of abusive husband Trevor Morgan and finally worked up the courage to leave him for good in December 2001, after he had raped her in horrifying scenes.
However, Trevor refused to take no for an answer, and promised to change his behaviour in order to win her back.Despite his assurances that his abuse of her was over, Trevor turned violent when Little Mo tried to leave, and wrestled her onto the kitchen floor. Tonight’s episode of the BBC soap, which just happened to be written by the same person as that famous Little Mo scene – Simon Ashdown – proved that loveable Freddie really is his mother’s son, as he too fought back against an abuser, using an iron as his weapon. The sight of Theo refusing to take no for an answer as Stacey reiterated that there was nothing going on between them was eerily familiar, and the parallels continued as Theo wrestled her to the ground and covered her mouth to stop her screaming out for help, much like Trevor had done to Little Mo.Though Little Mo had been totally alone in her plight, Theo’s attack on Stacey was soon interrupted by Freddie, who was still reeling after a run in with his father.However, this failed to deter him and as he continued to go after Stacey, Freddie reached for the first thing he could find to use as a weapon: The iron. Like Little Mo had with Trevor, Freddie continued to hit Theo, with his fist this time, until he was laying unconscious in a pool of blood on the floor. With so many parallels to Little Mo’s story throughout this episode, we have been left wondering if the aftermath of her famous iron scene could provide hints toward what is to come for Freddie. Viewers will know that Trevor survived the attack against him, which proved bad news for Little Mo, who was later found guilty of attempted murder. However, she was later released after Trevor struck up a deal with the Slaters and agreed not to give evidence against Little Mo in return for Kat Slater dropping all charges against him following his attack on her.Bobby Brazier is set to take a break from the show during his Strictly Come Dancing stint, so could he follow in his mother’s footsteps and end up being released from prison?
