An EastEnders legend who left the soap in 2017 is set to make her return to telly in an episode of Casualty - and fans are thrilled to see her back on a primetime series
Laurie Brett, best known as Albert Square's Jane Beale in EastEnders, is all set for an epic TV comeback, featuring in a flashback episode of the BBC hit series Casualty . The Lanarkshire-born actress, who will be 55 this year, is returning to our screens this Saturday for a special cameo on the BBC medical drama, and fans are delighted.
Jodie, brought to life by Anna Chell, burst onto the medical drama scene in 2023 and has since been entangled in intense plots, from being spiked and abducted to discovering her long-lost father was her boss, not to mention surviving a bomb scare. Excitement is brewing among fans over Laurie's new role, with social media abuzz.
Laurie joined the EastEnders cast in 2004 after catching the eye of the soap's casting director during her performance in the West End hit Les Misérables. Before becoming a Walford regular, she had appeared in TV favourites like London's Burning, The Bill, and the BBC sitcom My Hero, reports the Mirror.
