Natalie Cassidy, best known for her role as Sonia Fowler in EastEnders, has been unmasked as Bush on ITV's The Masked Singer. Fans had already suspected her identity, and her departure from EastEnders earlier this month fueled speculation. Cassidy admitted the experience was 'one of the best jobs I have ever done'.
EastEnders legend Natalie Cassidy has been revealed as Bush on ITV 's The Masked Singer . The actress, known for her portrayal of Sonia Fowler in the long-running BBC soap, narrowly missed out on the grand finale, losing out to Pufferfish. Judges Jonathan Ross, Richard E Grant, Davina McCall, and Maya Jama watched as Cassidy's identity was unmasked following her performances of ABBA's Thank You For The Music and Lisa Loeb's Stay.
'It's one of the best jobs I have ever done,' she said before singing her final song. It was a double elimination on tonight's semi-final, with singer Example also being revealed as Bear. Fans had already suspected that Cassidy was behind the Bush mask prior to her unmasking, with several taking to social media to express their certainty. Natalie recently announced her departure from the EastEnders cast earlier this month after 11 years back on the Square. This led to speculation that she had the time to participate in the hit ITV show this season. Ahead of the semi-final, one fan wrote: 'Madness - Our House performance confirmed it is Natalie Cassidy for me as could clearly hear her voice,' as another agreed stating: '100% Natalie Cassidy.' With another viewer simply declaring: 'It’s Natalie Cassidy. Any other guesses are wrong. End of.' One viewer gave their opinion, confessing they weren't convinced it was Natalie at first: 'Actually thought it was Josie Gibson at first putting on the accent. Thought she slipped back into Bristolian once or twice. Now think Cassidy same as others.' Cassidy had previously denied being Bush during her podcast Off The Telly with Joanna Page. Gavin & Stacey star Joanna Page put the question simply to Natalie, as she said: 'I'm sorry right, but are you Bush? Everyone thinks that you are Bush. I think you are Bush, I mean all of the clues are making me feel that you are Bush. Are you Bush?' As Joanna probed for answers from her co-host, she finally thought that she had got the titbit that everyone had been waiting for. Natalie replied: 'I think Davina (McCall) is onto something. Well, Davina said that it could be Moragana Robinson and then I thought hang on a minute.' Joanna then cut in saying 'oh my god, you think Morgana is doing your voice?' Loose Women panelist Natalie admitted that she has been inundated with messages from fans of the show who are adamant the soap actress is behind the mask. Joanna delved deeper in her analysis as she tried to finally get to the bottom of whether the 41-year-old is in fact the Bush. She said: 'The voice sounds like you, but I'm looking at the body language and the body language doesn't seem like you. You know sometimes you look at them (the contestants) and you can tell, but the body language doesn't look like you, it's the voice.'
