Easter weather as Scotland to bask in 17C and sunshine in 'hottest day of year'

Easter Sunday could then be the “warmest day of the year so far”

Scotland could be treated to temperatures “as high as 16C or 17C” on Easter Sunday as warm weather creeps in over the bank holiday weekend.

Although the forecaster warned that while Easter Sunday will be warmer than usual at this time of year, Scotland will likely be cloudier with potential rain in places. Similar conditions are likely on Saturday, when “the vast majority” of the UK can expect “spells of sunshine” after a “frosty start”. Met Office meteorologist Tom Morgan said: “It’s going to be the North West basically late on Sunday that will see the heaviest rain.
