An easyJet passenger recently took to social media to ask about a specific detail regarding their booking - and the airline's response has since been shared widely

EasyJet has stressed to flyers the critical importance of ensuring the name on their booking aligns perfectly with their passport details. This advice came after a customer's enquiry about potential issues when booking under a chosen name rather than the full name in their passport.

Reassuring the traveller further, the budget airline indicated the facility to correct the information using the 'Manage Booking' feature. EasyJet's own website underscored the importance of exact matches between passenger names and the identification to be used when travelling, including middle names: "Please ensure the passenger's full name matches the ID they will be using to travel, including middle names.

Later updates confirmed that the customer managed to amend their mistake through the online chat service without having to pay extra, reports Bristol Live. Additionally, you can modify or add seats to your booking, as well as include hold luggage, sports equipment, or increase your weight allowance. If you need to cancel your flight within 24 hours of booking, a £49 fee applies online, while a £55 fee is charged when contacting the customer service team.
