"It's a free event," said Kiki Smith, the outreach and fundraising coordinator at South East Area Coalition . "It's at a public park. We have 1,000 glasses to give to the first thousand people who come, but it runs from 1 to 6 " She lost her vision over several decades and recalled wanting to be a part of the excitement for the last eclipse in 2017.
Devices known as LightSound boxes, which translate the light by changing it into sound, will be available to attendees.Stations equipped with tactile books will also put the eclipse at the fingertips of any user.
