Pop superstar Ed Sheeran made a surprise visit to the St Mary-le-Tower choir in Ipswich, officially opening their new Song School. The young choristers were astonished when Sheeran walked into their practice room, asking if he could listen to them rehearse Christmas carols.

Just under 40 young people are part of the St Mary-le-Tower choir in Ipswich. There were gasps when the door of their practice room opened and Ed walked in, asking: "Can I listen?" St Mary-le-Tower has opened its Song School in a building opposite the church on Tower Street. It is also used as a wellbeing and community hub with Citizens Advice.
