Ed Sheeran lashes out at copyright claim culture after winning Shape of You court case
Ed Sheeran lashed out at 'baseless claims' 'with the idea a settlement will be cheaper than taking it to court'. The 31-year-old said there are 'only so many quotes used in pop music' so 'coincidences are bound to happen'.
It comes as he opened up about the 'pain and hurt suffered' in his own court case brought by two grime artists. Sami Chokri and Ross O'Donoghue claimed he had ripped off their song 2015 song Oh Why with Shape of You. But Mr Justice Zacaroli concluded today that Sheeran 'neither deliberately nor subconsciously' copied phrase
