Eddie Hearn, promoter of the boxing show, expressed disbelief at Tyson Fury's loss to Francis Ngannou, stating that both fighters appeared inexperienced. Hearn also mentioned the knockdown in round three, questioning Fury's resistance. He further suggested that Anthony Joshua should have a rematch with Ngannou or end Fury's career within six rounds.
Speaking after the fight at a show he was promoting in America, Hearn said: "You had one guy who has never boxed before, fighting a guy who also looked like he'd never boxed before in Tyson Fury.
"I can't believe what we were watching, a complete novice in everybody's book just beat Tyson Fury, Ngannou won that fight." Hearn was then asked about the knockdown in round three and he said: "I watched it back it didn't even look like a big shot, I don't know whether his resistance is going, respect to Francis Ngannou he stepped in the ring, he's never boxed before. I still think he gets beaten by many levels below that.
