Holidaymakers were forced to leave the terminal building at around 5.45am on July 19 after the alarm was activated.
Passengers were evacuated from Edinburgh Airport this morning after a security alert was sparked by a global IT outage.
It was first thought that the reason for the alarm sounding was to do with a 'burning smell' in Burger King.But it is understood the reason for the incident was due to a "global IT outage" which sparked a security alert.
