The City Café on Blair Street was evacuated after black smoke was seen coming from one of the cubicles in the male loos.
Fire crews raced to the scene within minutes and quickly extinguished the blaze but staff have slammed those responsible warning that it "could have ended in tragedy". There are no reported injuries.
"At 12.01am the fire alarm went off, one of the performers and one of our own staff members that was in the toilet noticed black smoke coming out of one the cubicles. They started trying to get the fire out with the extinguisher." "The way our toilets are set up it would be extremely difficult to accidentally set the toilet paper on fire, so it was obvious that someone must've put some effort into that.
