Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch took a shot at the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday when discussing the importance of experience in a championship series.
Kris Knoblauch was 12 years old and growing up in Canada when the Buffalo Bills lost the first of four consecutive Super Bowls. Apparently, it was a formative experience in his early days as a sports fan.Now the head coach of the Edmonton Oilers, Knoblauch has steered the team to the Stanley Cup Finals, where the Oilers will look to become Canada's first NHL champion since the 1993 Montreal Canadiens.
Maurice himself is a postseason veteran of 11 seasons. His teams have not missed the postseason since 2017.As for Knoblauch, he took over for Jay Woodcroft early in the 2023-24 season, when the Oilers were struggling to a 3-9-1 start. Since then, Edmonton went 46-18-5 record, then dispatched the Los Angeles Kings, Vancouver Canucks, and Dallas Stars in the playoffs.
