Davis is expected to complete a season-long loan move from Aston Villa after having a medical and the Hornets head coach described the move as “imminent” following the 1-0 win. Fellow forward Dennis is poised to complete a move in the opposite direction away from Vicarage Road, with reports claiming he will sign a four-year deal at the City Ground after undergoing his medical.
Asked whether Dennis’ probable departure had affected preparations for the game, Edwards said: “Not so much. We’ve been aware and we’ve been calm throughout the window. We’ve known that things could happen and things could change and we’ve been pretty well prepared for all eventualities.
