The Department of Social Welfare and Development said the number of people affected by typhoon “Egay” in the Cordillera region has increased to 332,404 or 96,101 families.
The DSWD-Cordillera said on Sunday, July 30, that the province of Abra has the highest number of people affected with 252,408 or 74,879 families from 301 barangays in 27 towns.Benguet has 21,977 people or 5,561 families from 103 barangays in 13 towns.
Kalinga logged 4,070 people or 833 families, Mountain Province 2,197 or 709 families, Baguio City, 2,070 or 516 families, and Ifugao, 1,409 or 345 families.The DSWD has distributed an initial 13,458 family food packs, hygiene kits, family kits, sleeping kits, kitchen kits, bottled water, and other non-food items amounting to P18,287,089 to evacuees in the Cordillera.
