SUPER Typhoon 'Egay' has been downgraded into a typhoon but affected areas will continue to experience 'violent, life-threatening conditions,' the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Wednesday.
In its 5 a.m. advisory, Pagasa said that Egay made landfall in Fuga Island, Aparri, Cagayan.Pagasa said that despite the downgrade, 'violent, life-threatening conditions' are expected to continue over Babuyan Islands, the northwestern portion of mainland Cagayan, and the northern portions of Apayao and Ilocos Norte.It added that residents in Babuyan islands may also experience 'trochoidal or wobbling motion.'Weather specialist Obet Badrina said Signal No.
